This movie received a loud buzz for some time on the web. So, I found myself wondering what was so special about the movie. Even without watching the movie, one could easily figure out what sort of movie it would be. Before the movie was released in theatres, the trailers out there pretty much told the story. Hundreds of poisonous snakes are smuggled on a plane and then the containers are timed to release their cold-blooded contents midway on a flight from Hawaii to California. The flowers and vents are liberally doused with snake pheromones. Travellers are on a shut-eye flight and have comfortably settled in for another ride. Then, bang! The snakes creep and crawl their way from the cargo hold to the coach section of the plane. The result is unimaginable terror!

It is a dance of death. One false move and you get bitten. Make no move and you get bitten twice. Wooohoooo, enjoy the adrenaline rush as the human instinct for self-preservation propels these passengers into extreme acts of bravery, confusion and despair in the face of these wriggling venomous reptilian assailants.

There was this elderly air hostess that ought to have retired the week before, but somehow, she decided to go on one final ride. How unfortunate that her final ride had to be this flight. It was a very stirring scene to see how she jumped in the face of danger to rescue an innocent baby.

Here's what happened. Anyone that could flee or fend away the snakes had retreated to a safe corner of the plane where they artificially created a hedge between them and the rest of the coach section. Suddenly the faint cry of an innocent baby is heard. This brave air hostess who had retreated to relative safety decides to go back out to the coach section which by now was crawling with snakes ( pardon the pun) and just as she was about to pick up the baby to hightail it to the safe area, a huge cobra jumps out, exposes its fangs and gets ready to descend on the innocent baby. The baby is altogether oblivious of what is going on as he plays with his clattering toys. Then in an act of heroism, this air hostess grabs the baby just in time. For her efforts, she got bitten on the back. She made it back to safety and handed the baby over to the mother, but the deadly toxins were already at work. She died eventually, just like many others on that plane.

If you have a phobia for heights, crowded/tight spaces, or snakes then keep away! If you have none of these phobias, but you have a weak heart or any other physical infirmity, keep away also. For your own good! If you have none of these, then prepare yourself for some creepy-crawly, shrieking/screaming and nailbiting fun!
