This is part 2 of the previous entry on Igbo (Ibo) names.

 

Theme: Death

Onwumechili: Death closed...
Onwuzuluigbo/Onwuzuruigbo: death has reached all Igbo land (or more appropriately "Death is everywhere")
Onwueme: Death has done (a bad thing)
Balonwu/Belonwu: If it weren't for death
Onwudinjo: Death is bad/evil
Onwuaso: Death does not respect
Onwubuariri/Onwubualili: Death is terrible sorrow
Anezionwu: Does one send death?
Onwuatuegwu/Onwuatu: Death does not fear
Onwudiwe: Death is terrible
Onwuzulu: Death is everywhere
A(na)gbapuluonwu: Death cannot be shaken off/escaped
Onwurapu, Onwurah, Onwughalu: Death should leave
Onwubiko: Please, Death!
Atu-egwuonwu/Egwuonwu: Do not have-fear of death
Onwuamaibe: Death knows no peers (death has no friends)
Onwuanu-mba: Death does not heed - rebukes
Onwuka: Death is greater
Onwuzuluike: Death should rest
Onwuchekwa: Death should wait
Onwuma: Death can please itself
Anazonwu: Death is not desired (Does anyone struggle to inherit death?)

Chikadibia - God is greater than doctors

Chidiebube - God is glorious, Majestic God; God is magnificent

Chukwuemeka - God has done a lot
Chukwuerika - God is plenty
Chukwuebuka - God is big/huge
Chukwuadika - God is too much

Theme: Nna (father could also mean God)


Lotanna/Chetanna - remember father
Fenna - worship God
Obinna - Father's heart; the heart of the father
Adanna - Father's daughter (usually given to the first daughter)
Nnenna - Father's mum/grandmother
Nnanna - Father's dad/grandfather
Ogbonna/Ogbonnaya/Ogbonnia
a name given to a son who embodies the virtues of his father hence "Father's incarnate"
Ogonna
Father's magnanimity; Father's generosity
Ugonna/Ugwunna - Father's pride; Father's honor.
